RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A 32-year-old New Hempstead man was charged with assault after hitting another man in the head with a beer bottle on Sunday, Ramapo Police said.

The unidentified man is currently being held in the Ramapo Police lock-up awaiting arraignment.
