Harbor Bar violates township ordinances, DJ parties moved

Weehawken authorities have slapped the Harbor Bar & Brasserie with several summonses for using the restaurant as a dance club “in clear violation of township ordinances,” an official said today. “They knew what the rules were when they opened: Any entertainment has to be in the private room, where they have parties and other catered affairs,” said Township Manager James V. Marchetti.

Marchetti said he didn’t know he exact amount of fines or number of violations — one for each night the “DISCO INFERNO” deejay dance party was held. Beginning tonight, he said, the parties must be in
the private room. Inspectors will be checking to make sure.

A Harbor Bar hostess who answered the phone shortly after noon Friday said the manager was in a meeting and couldn’t be reached immediately. As of 4 p.m., no one had returned the call.

CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM has published features about the “DISCO INFERNO” dance parties, one of which was attended by the lead singer of KC & the Sunshine Band and legendary KTU deejay Paco.

The PILOT learned of the violations yesterday from a source that does business with the Lincoln Harbor-area restaurant, and today Marchetti confirmed the report.
