God save the Queen

Queen Estela is going solo. “With God’s will, now I can do this on my own,” she said this morning. Once the link to her new website is up, we’ll post it so you can see for yourself.

In her columns, Estela strongly promoted DjAlex Garcia and DjRick Garcia, both close friends of hers who had been spinning for parties in the Harbor Bar & Brasserie in Lincoln Harbor — that is, until Weehawken officials got wind of the illegal gatherings.

Inspectors issued several violations against the restaurant for having entertainment in the restaurant area, in violation of municipal codes, instead of in a separate room dedicated for that purpose.

The deejays have since moved their parties away from the Gold Coast to a club in Secaucus, as a younger and more aggressive management group — KARMA CREATIVES — continues to add venues and attract larger audiences.

The PILOT wishes Estela all the best in her future endeavors; we’ll also cross-link her site so that those who are interested won’t miss what she’s up to. We’ll also keep her columns archived in case you ever want to check them out.

For those who are curious, CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM is in discussions, as they say, for a new nightlife columnist — only geared toward a slightly younger, hipper crowd. Nothing wrong with disco; it’s just too narrow a niche. The position still hasn’t been filled, so those interested can write directly to Publisher/Editor Jerry DeMarco at: GerardJDeMarco@gmail.com.
