Driver Who Fled After Crashing Into Bus In Ramapo Found, Charged With DWI

RAMAPO, N.Y. – The driver of an SUV who fled after a head-on collision with a Monsey Tours bus on Route 45 in Ramapo early Monday morning was found and charged with DWI, according to multiple reports.

Ramapo Police said that a driver that fled from an accident scene after slamming into a tour bus has turned himself in.

Kara Roka, 32, turned himself in at around noon following the 2:43 a.m. crash that closed Route 45 between Williams Avenue and Tioken Road for several hours, according to lohud.com.

Ramapo police told News 12 that when they got to the scene, the SUV driver was nowhere to be found. Once he turned himself in, he was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern with unspecified injuries. The bus driver received minor injuries, police said.
