Police said they were called to a multi-family house at 5 Chestnut St. Wednesday, April 27, where an unnamed number of tenants were fighting.

One of the combatants had been punched in the face and head several times and another complained of chest pains, police said.

They both were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.

Police arrested an unidentified 51-year-old man and charged him with aggravated harassment and criminal mischief.

Police said he was the one who had been pummeled.

He later called one of the other people involved in the dust-up and threatened to shoot him, police said.

He also allegedly returned to the house and trashed a stairway in its common area, police said.

Meanwhile, police ended up notifying the local building inspector’s office about potential building and code violations at the residence.

The inspector, after examining the building, cited the owner for several violations, police said.

Now he will have to appear in court, they said.

The investigation is continuing and more arrests are likely, police said.
