William A. Dami Jr., 92, Of Sloatsburg

SLOATSBURG, N.Y. -- William A. Dami Jr., of Sloatsburg, died Sunday, Nov. 13. He was 92.

He was born June 10, 1924, in New York City, to William A. Dami Sr. and Elsie Dami (nee Luft). 

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, at the age of 19, and was discharged three years later in 1946. He began working at New York Telephone in 1948. He retired in 1985 after 37 years with New York Telephone. He and his wife spent the next 30 years traveling the world and enjoying every minute of their ever-growing family.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; children, Marianne (Carmine), Paul (wife Doreen), Lisa (Patrick), Mady, Dave (wife Susan), Suzanne (Andrew) and Tim; grandchildren, Erica (Bill), Jessica, Vanessa (Mike), Rachael (Mike), Bill (wife Lisa), Ashley (Tom), Stephen, Matt, Mark, Anthony, Leigh-Anne (Eric), Philip and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Alyse, Declan, Billy, Mikey, Aidan, Guiliana, Joey, Skylar, Zack, Dylan and Renae. 

He was predeceased by his parents; brother, John; and son, Christopher. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Church, 32 Eagle Valley Road, Sloatsburg. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension, 655 Saddle River Road, Airmont. Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Scarr Funeral Home, 160 Orange Ave., Suffern. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joan of Arc/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
