Walter E. Millett Jr., 76, Of Suffern

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Walter E. Millett Jr., a resident of Suffern, died Thursday, Jan. 21. He was 76.

Millett served seven years from 1957-64 with the U.S. Army Air Defense Command, Nike Ajax and Nike Hercules missle sites in Orangeburg and San Pedro Calif. Millett worked for Daley Tire Service in Monsey for 18 years and worked for Rockland Tire Service in Monsey for two years. In addition, he worked for Orange & Rockland Utilities in Spring Valley for 13 years until retirement in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Grace B. (Russo) Millett; four children, Robert W. and wife Brenda of Stony Point, Theresa M. Rodriguez of Montgomery, N.Y., Vito J. and wife Solange of Monroe; and Wally and wife Diane of Washingtonville; one brother, Francis P Millett; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter E. Millett Sr. and Priscilla (Wade) Millett; a sister, Bonnie J. Mead; a brother, Glenn R. Millett; and a son-in-law, David Rodriguez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 26, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern.

Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet. Friends may call Monday, Jan. 25, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Scarr Funeral Home Route 202, Suffern.
