Roslyn Josephs Millman, 93, Of Hillcrest

HILLCREST, N.Y. -- Roslyn Josephs Millman, of Hillcrest, died Sunday, Nov. 13. She was 93.

She was born May 11, 1923, in Brooklyn, and moved to Spring Valley when she was 3 months old. She graduated from Spring Valley High School, Class of 1941. 

She worked at many jobs, including one of her first at the Garnerville Clothing Factory. She finished her career in the East Ramapo School District, as the secretary at Hempstead School before retiring after 30 years. She was a past Supreme Representative and past Grand Chief of the State of New York for the Knights of Pythian and was a member for more than 70. She was a member of the Sunshine Girls during her youth before she became a Pythian. She was a member of multiple senior groups in the county, such as Forever Young, Rockland Community College Seniors and JCCY Seniors.

She was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Faye Josephs; and husband, Harold Millman. 

She she is survived by her sisters, Shirley Stern and Marion Bennett Swartzreich; children, Leonard Millman, Warren Millman and Lance Millman; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to either the Joan of Arc Temple #144 Pythian Sisters or Congregation Sons of Israel, 80 Williams Ave., Spring Valley, NY 10977.
