Marlene Lang, 79, Longtime Suffern Resident

SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Longtime Suffern resident Marlene Lang died on Sunday, Feb. 14. She was 79.

Born in Brooklyn, Lang graduated from of Eastern District High School. Later, her family relocated to Suffern in 1972. She worked as a secretary for the Metropolitan Vacuum Company in Suffern for several years.

Lang was then an administrative assistant in the Supervisor's office at the Town of Ramapo for 25 years, until she retired in 2006. After she retired, she volunteered at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Lang is survived by her daughter, Francine Veltidi of Little Ferry, New Jersey, and her son Gary Lang of Suffern; nephew Barry Lesser and his wife Linda of New Fairfield, Connecticut; niece Shari Colucci and her husband Michael of Valley Cottage; great-nieces and -nephews, Todd Colucci, Erika Eng, Michael Colucci, Marielle Colucci and Carrie Oillaux; and great-great-nephew Aiden Douglas Eng.

She was predeceased by her parents, George and Jeanne Itkin, and her sister, Evelyn Lesser Kronisch.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at Hellman Memorial Chapel, 15 State St., in Spring Valley. Interment will directly follow at Mount Golda Cemetery, in Huntington Station.
