WANAQUE, N.J. – John J. (Jack) Gavin, formerly of Suffern, died Sunday, Jan. 24, in Wanaque. He was 73.
He was born Aug. 30, 1942, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to John and Marion Gavin. He served in the Navy and then worked at AT&T until his retirement.
He is survived by his sister, Carol Consiglio; four children, Sean, Timothy, Michael and Shannon; eight grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Gina Gavin, who cared for him during a long illness.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Scarr Funeral home in Suffern. A private memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
