The change is part of a "budget-balancing" review of government operations by new Mayor Edward Markunas, lohud.com says.

Suffern's budget deficit was a main campaign issue with a reported budget hole of around $2.5 million, according to lohud.com.

The report says it's uncertain what Menschner's new position will be and who will head up the clerk's office.
