FitzGerald, a 2003 Suffern High School graduate, suffered spinal cord injuries in the Dec. 29 car crash that killed the other car's driver. FitzGerald was riding with other Secret Service agents working with Hillary Clinton's campaign when the other car crossed over the center line and struck it head-on, lohud.com says.

FitzGerald and his fiancee -- now wife -- Joan Lyall, had just moved to Boston and were planning to get married in March, according to lohud.com.

A GoFundMe page set up for him titled #GarrettStrong, has already raised more than $200,000 for his recovery.
