No Foul Play Suspected In Deaths Of Rockland Couple, Police Say

NEW CITY, N.Y. – An elderly New City couple was found dead in their beds in New City on Tuesday, authorities said.

Joseph and Elizabeth Codi were found dead in their Raven Terrace home in New City, police say. At this time, police believe the elderly couple died of natural causes.

At this time, police do not suspect foul play in the deaths of Joseph and Elizabeth Codi, who were 89 and 85 respectively and homeowners at 8 Raven Terrace.

The Clarkstown Police Department responded to a report of an elderly couple found deceased by a family member Tuesday morning. 

Responding patrol officers found a deceased man and woman in the residence. The couple were found in separate bedrooms, police said, and appeared to have been deceased for more than a week.

The Clarkstown Detective Bureau is conducting an investigation. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday by the Rockland County Medical Examiner. The deaths do not appear to be suspicious in nature. Updates will be provided as they become available.
