ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 30-year-old woman high on drugs caused a multi-vehicle crash on Route 202 last week, according to the Ramapo Police.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m., just minutes after the police department received multiple calls regarding an erratic driver on Route 202 heading toward Route 45, police said.

Police said the unidentified Rockland woman, driving a green Jeep Cherokee, rammed into the back of another vehicle at a high rate of speed in front of Pacesetter Plaza, causing that car to slam into the car in front of them, police said.

Several people received minor injuries during the crash, police said.

During the investigation, officers found the woman was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the wreck, police said.

She was charged with DWI/Drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle.

There were no significant road closures as a result of the crash.
