SLOATSBURG, N.Y. -- The Sloatsburg Public Library will get a brand new American flag thanks to state Sen. David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester).

Carlucci's “Operation Raise the Flag” has donated Old Glory to libraries, schools, veterans’ associations, and other local organizations.

A flag-raising ceremony is set at the library for 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Taps and the National Anthem will be played in the ceremony, which is expected to be attended by Carlucci, Sloatsburg Mayor Carl S. Wright, the library’s director, and members of its board.

The library is located at 1 Liberty Rock Road, Sloatsburg.
