Carl-Henry Joseph Joins Ramapo Daily Voice As Community Advisor

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Carl-Henry Joseph, former deputy mayor of Spring Valley and a leader of the Haitian community, is one of Daily Voice's community advisors for its Ramapo site.

Community advisors provide Daily Voice with tips for local news and events.

Joseph's academic background is in the field of economics, finance, and taxation. He currently works as a special agent with New York State Department of Labor, Office of Special Investigations. He conducts field investigations and interviews unemployment insurance claimants, employers, accountants, attorneys, and witnesses associated with particular cases to ascertain if there is a violation of NYS unemployment insurance laws. He participates in hearings and criminal prosecution proceedings as directed.

Besides being a member of various professional organizations, including the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), Mr. Joseph is the President and CEO of C.H. Joseph Income Tax and holds the designation of Enrolled Agent (E.A.) with the United States Department of the Treasury. As an E.A., he is authorized to represent taxpayers at all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

Joseph is also a former Deputy Mayor of the Village of Spring Valley. During his tenure, he was instrumental in budget negotiation to reduce property taxes, while working diligently to improve the quality of life and make home ownership more feasible for the citizens of Spring Valley.  

He has served as a political commentator to various media outlets in the Spring Valley Haitian community, thereby increasing awareness of different issues affecting community members. 

Joseph’s dedication to the Haitian community is clearly reflected in his continuous involvement in activities that help to improve the lives of Haitians in his hometown of Spring Valley, New York. Following the 2010 earthquake incident that deplorably ravaged Haiti, he successfully organized multifarious fundraising events and food drives to help alleviate the suffering of the Haitian people.
