Rockland Dance & Fitness Studio recently had its grand opening and is offering $5 classes for first-time clients along with occasional specials for other members (check their Facebook page).

Owner Nicole Russodivito, a longtime Suffern resident, said the studio will be open Thanksgiving morning and Black Friday for some holiday fitness pre-turkey eating and along the way will most likely offer freebies here and there.

The studio had been further down the block but when a larger space opened up at 74 Lafayette, Russodivito said she had to take it.

Zumba is the studio's most popular class but Pilates, PiYo, Piloxing, Pound, Bouje, Body Burn, Bokwa, and Barre are also offered. "I like to have all the new fitness trends," said Russodivito. To that end, she offers speciality classes in Bollyx and line dancing.

Russodivito likes to mix it up, too, with her decor, which means neon colors and fun wall art make her studio a happy place.

"We have an amazing group of ladies that come to the studio and many friendships have been made here," she said. "Last week we all pumpkin painted in the studio and went out dancing after."

Nothing, however, beats the satisfaction of knowing she's helped women achieve their goals. "When members show me their 'before' and 'after' pictures, it's incredible," she said. "Knowing I made such a huge impact in someone's life is incredibly rewarding."
