Man Killed After Being Struck By Dumpster Being Unloaded From Truck In Region An employee of a dumpster company in the region was killed after the box came loose from a wench and landed on top of him. The incident took place in Columbia County around 11:20 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24 in the city of Hudson, on the 200 block of Long Alley. Worker From Northern Westchester Dies After Falling From Business Roof A worker from Westchester died after falling off the roof of a Long Island business, police said. The incident happened in Suffolk County on Monday, Jan. 18 at around 3:40 p.m. Hector Aranda-Sanchez, age 27, of Peekskill, an employee of a Yonkers-based roofing company, was on the roof of Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows, located at 5005 Veterans Memorial Highway in Holbrook, when he fell from the roof, police said. Michael Avery of Wappingers Falls was rescued around 4:35 p.m. Monday at the Dunmore Corporation in Brewster, after his arm was caught between two large rollers in a machine, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks. Construction Worker Struck, Killed In Hudson Valley A 58-year-old construction worker was struck and killed by a vehicle on Route 207 in Orange County while cleaning up from a paving job, according to the New York State Police. James Demmer of Monticello was struck around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday near 3317 Route 207 in Goshen by an unidentified person driving a 2016 Journey, said New York State Police Spokesman Steven Nevel.
