Man Dies A Week After Assault In Area, Police Say A man who was found bleeding at an area park earlier this month has died from his injuries. On Tuesday, Feb. 18 at approximately 6 a.m., the City of Newburgh police department responded to a 911 call for a man found bleeding from the face in Hasbrouck Street Park located on Hasbrouck Street, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. When officers found Christian Breslin, 40, he appeared to have been assaulted. He was transported to a nearby hospital and eventually transferred to Westchester Medical, Burns said. Motorcyclist Airlifted To Hospital After Two-Vehicle Crash In Area, Police Say A motorcyclist was airlifted to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash in the area. The crash took place in Orange County on Monday, Feb. 3 in the City of Newburgh at Broadway and Mill Street. Upon arrival, Newburgh officers found the motorcycle and its driver in the roadway,  said City of Newburgh Police Det. Lt. Joseph Burns. The victim was transported to  St. Luke’s Hospital before being flown to Westchester Medical, Burns said. The driver of the motor vehicle did not seek medical attention at the scene. The crash is under investigation.

City Of Newburgh Man In Critical Condition Following Shooting, Police Say A 26-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot in the hip and neck in the City of Newburgh. Police detected the shooting around 7:48 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, after receiving a Shot Spotter activation for the area of 143 N. Miller Street, said City of Newburgh Police Det. Sgt. Joseph Burns. When officers arrived on scene they were told Jordan Myles, of Newburgh, had been shot and had transported by a vehicle to St. Luke’s Hospital, Burns said. Driver From Area Seriously Injured In Crash With School Bus A driver was seriously injured after being hit by a school bus in Rockland County as it exited the Palisades Parkway. The incident took place around 7:22 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, when a 2016 school bus was traveling northeast making a left onto Quaker Road off the exit 13 ramp in the town of Haverstraw, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. The crash occurred when a 2008 Toyota Prius was traveling southwest off the ramp. Woman, 21, Nabbed In Hit-Run Crash That Seriously Injured Pedestrian A 21-year-old woman has been charged in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Orange County.  The pedestrian was found just after midnight Friday in the area of 247 Broadway when an officer was flagged down for a person who had been struck by a vehicle, said City of Newburgh Police Sgt. Joseph Rutigliano. The vehicle involved had fled the scene.  The unidentified victim, who was believed to be intoxicated, sustained serious injuries, he was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s/Cornwall Hospital. ID Released For Victim Of Fatal I-287 Crash The man who was killed Tuesday night in a crash on I-287 has been identified. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver of a box truck, John P. Riofrio, 48, of New York City, was traveling eastbound on I-287 when he collided with another vehicle at around 7:33 p.m. between Exits 9A and 10 in Harrison on the eastbound side, state police said. After the collision, Riofrio then lost control of his truck and traveled off the roadway over the southern shoulder and through the guide rail, according to police.
