Hudson Valley Man Charged With DWI After Striking Telephone Pole A Hudson Valley man was nabbed for driving while intoxicated after state police spotted him allegedly driving erratically before hitting a telephone pole. The incident took in Orange County around 1:50 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 20 in the city of Newburgh. According to Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police, Robert A. Johnson, age 33, of the city of Newburgh, was charged after troopers spotted him driving a 2002 Volvo S-60 in an erratic manner before he hit a construction sign and kept on driving. Man Nabbed In Shooting Death Of Area Man, Police Say Police in the Hudson Valley have nabbed a man wanted in connection with the murder of an area man and also injured a 5-year-old. The murder took place in Orange County on Thursday, Sept. 29, in the City of Newburgh. City of Newburgh Police Commissioner Jose Gomerez announced Tuesday, Nov. 22 that Lamont Williams, age 29, no known address, was arrested in North Carolina following a months-long investigation. One Injured In Shots-Fired Incident In Area, Police Say One person was injured during a shots-fired incident in the area. It happened in Orange County around 1:30 a.m., Saturday, July 23 in Newburgh, on Liberty Street. According to Newburgh Police, officers responded to the area of 79 Liberty St. for a Shotspotter report of five shots fired. Less than a minute later the department received another report of rounds fired on Washington Street, police said. Police in Orange County pulled over a 2019 Acura TL for a traffic violation on Washington Street in Newburgh at about 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, according to New York State Police. Local residents facing charges include:  Ulster County On Jan. 3, State Police in Ellenville arrested Lizette Andino, 31 of Napanoch, for DWAI Drugs.
