Man Ramming Vehicles In Stolen Car Nabbed After Crash, Police Say A 32-year-old man was charged with numerous crimes after allegedly stealing a Dodge Charger during a burglary in the area and ramming numerous vehicles including police cruisers. Malachi Hunter, a former New Jersey resident, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 9, in Dutchess County after crashing head-on into a City of Poughkeepsie police car. The incident with Hunter began when police received a 911 call regarding an erratic driver attempting to run over people in the area of 52 Gifford Ave., said Detective Lt. High-Speed Chase, Crash Shuts Down Route 9A This story has been updated. A high-speed police chase that ended with a crash has closed a major Westchester County roadway in two towns and injured a police officer, according to the Westchester County Police. The chase began around 11:30 a.m. Friday when a Westchester County Police officer received a notice that a car passing him on the Sawmill River Road in Mount Pleasant was wanted for a number of vehicle burglaries in Bethlehem, near Albany, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.
