Trio Nabbed For String Of Commercial Burglaries Throughout Region Three Connecticut men have been charged with a string of commercial burglaries throughout the Hudson Valley. The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Town of Ulster Police and several other police agencies from nearby counties, arrested the three Connecticut men on Sunday, June 4, for the burglaries that took place over a three-week time period, said Capt. Woman, 18, Injured In Accident At Swimming Hole In Area An 18-year-old woman was saved from a remote "swimming hole," during a dramatic rescue by Town of Tuxedo police with the help of others. The rescue took place around 5:30 p.m., Saturday, July 13, when Tuxedo police received a call that the woman had fallen 35-feet headfirst onto rocks below at a swimming hole known as the "bubbles," on the Ramapo River, said Tuxedo  Police Lt. John Norton. According to Norton, after taking more than an hour to get to the scene due to its remote location, officers had to strip down and swim in 20-foot deep water until finally locating the victim.  Numer…

ID Released For Motorcyclist Killed In Area Crash Police have released the identification of a 28-year-old motorcyclist killed in a Hudson Valley crash. Richard Stevens of Middletown died at 3:54 p.m. Tuesday on Route 17 in Orange County after being hit by a vehicle, said Tuxedo Police Officer Girard Shiloh. According to Shiloh, Stevens died at the scene near the intersection with Arden Valley Road after an unidentified teenager from New Jersey who was traveling southbound, turned onto Arden Valley Road in front of the motorcycle, ejecting the driver onto the roadway. The crash is under investigation.

Hudson Valley Man, 28, Killed In Motorcycle Crash A 28-year-old motorcyclist died after being hit by another vehicle in the Hudson Valley late Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred around 3:54 p.m. Tuesday on Route 17 in Orange County, said Tuxedo Police Officer Girard Shiloh.  According to Shiloh, the man died at the scene near the intersection with Arden Valley Road after a teenager from New Jersey who was traveling southbound, turned onto Arden Valley Road in front of the motorcycle, ejecting the driver onto the roadway. Police are waiting to notify the next of kin before releasing the victim's name.  The crash is under investigation…
