A Westchester school district located inside one of the state’s precautionary COVID-19 micro-cluster “yellow zones” has completed its mandatory testing to remain open for in-person learning. 19: Students, Staffer, Teacher Test Positive In Hudson Valley Schools
Several new COVID-19 cases were reported in multiple schools inside a Westchester school district over the weekend. On Friday, Nov. 13, interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero issued an alert to parents cautioning that there were newly confirmed positive COVID-19 cases from students at Daniel Webster Magnet School and Columbus Elementary School. 19: Students, Staffer At Three Westchester Schools Test Positive
Five new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in three Westchester schools. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero said that two students at Henry Barnard Early Childhood Center have tested positive for the virus, as has a second student at Columbus Elementary School and a classroom aide at Columbus. 19: Elementary School Staff Member In Westchester Dies From Virus
A staff member at a Westchester elementary school is among the latest to die from novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Emmy Falta, who worked at Trinity Elementary School in New Rochelle, died this week at the age of 41, Schools Superintendent Laura Feijoo announced. New Mahopac Schools Superintendent Is Local Resident, Ex-Lakeland Educator
A popular New Rochelle educator is moving on up to Putnam, where he will serve as the newest Schools Superintendent at his hometown Mahopac School District. Trinity Elementary School Principal Anthony DiCarlo announced that he would be resigning his position on Feb. 16, when he will travel north to take the helm in Mahopac after six years in New Rochelle. Mahopac Resident Named New Schools Superintendent
Anthony DiCarlo is the new man in charge of Mahopac's public schools. DiCarlo, who lives in Mahopac, was given a five-year contract by the Mahopac Board of Education at Thursday's meeting to be the district's new superintendent. DiCarlo, who serves as principal of Trinity Elementary School in New Rochelle, starts on Feb. 26.
