State Trooper From Area Accused Of Sexually Abusing Victim 'Known To Him,' Police Say A state trooper is facing multiple charges after police say he sexually abused a victim known to him. Orange County resident Matthew A. Stivala, age 32, of the Town of Monroe, was arrested on Saturday, July 23, and charged with: Two counts of first-degree sexual abuse (a Class D felony), First-degree criminal sex act (a Class B felony), Forcible touching (misdemeanor).  The charges stem from multiple incidents involving Stivala and the victim, police said. One Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash At Intersection In Area One person was killed during a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in the area. The crash took place around 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the intersection of Cedar Cliff Road and Lakes Road in the Town of Monroe, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Suspect Nabbed In June Area Armed Robbery New York State Police investigators tracked down an armed robbery suspect who allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash from his victim in the area. Jean Ysabel-Guerro, 30, of the Bronx, was arrested by state police for an Orange County robbery on June 20 last year in Kiryas Joel. The suspect was caught on camera, laughing an extensive investigation into the robbery. According to police, Ysabel-Guerro - who was wearing an NYPD t-shirt and hat at the time of the robbery - stole an undisclosed amount of cash during the robbery and proceeded to flee in a black four-door Nissan sedan. …

Two Arrested In Monroe Town Hall Assault Police have arrested a second man in connection with an alleged assault outside of Monroe Town Hall. The incident took place around 10:13 a.m., Thursday, March 28, when police were dispatched to Town Hall to investigate a report of a possible assault in progress involving a handgun, said Monroe Police Chief Alex Melchiorre. An investigation revealed that while attempting to file documents at Town Hall, a man was attacked by two suspects who struck him in the back of the head causing him to fall to the ground, and then repeatedly kicking and punching him, the Chief said. …
