2 Victims Rescued After Suffering Burns In Cortlandt House Fire
Two people were taken to a trauma center after becoming trapped inside a Northern Westchester residence that caught on fire. The incident happened in Cortlandt on Monday, Jan. 16 around 8:45 a.m., when a residence caught on fire with people trapped inside. According to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, arriving crews were able to extinguish the blaze and put out hot spots while also rescuing the two victims who were trapped inside. The final list of names of those who perished in a massive fire in a New York City apartment building that claimed the lives of 17 people, has been released. The names of the last three victims were released by the NYPD Wednesday, Jan. 12. The youngest was 2 years old. The victims ranged in age from 2 to 50 years old. Fast-Moving Fire Destroys Home, Vehicles In Hudson Valley
Three residents were treated for smoke inhalation after a fast-moving fire destroyed their Hudson Valley home and two vehicles. The Rockland County fire started around 6:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the Town of Ramapo at 987 Haverstraw Road in the village of Wesley Hills. According to Det. Sgt. A two-alarm fire destroyed a Northern Westchester home and sent the homeowner to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The fire at 29 Young St., in Lake Mohegan, broke out around noon on Tuesday, Dec. 15. A 93-year-old man who died in a house fire has been identified by police. George W. Hanson was found inside his Dutchess County home following the fire that was reported around 10:22 p.m., Thursday, April 30, on Tamarack Drive in Hopewell Junction, according to East Fishkill Police Lt. Derrick Cuccia. When police arrived on the scene, the residence was fully engulfed in flames, Cuccia said. Danbury firefighters responded to an early morning kitchen fire that caused extensive damage before it was extinguished by the homeowner. Four people have been hospitalized and nine families with a total of 40 persons have been displaced after a three-alarm fire broke out in a four-story apartment building in Yonkers.
