A felon with four previous narcotics arrests faces a slew of criminal charges after he was found in possession of a loaded Glock pistol and drugs, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Putnam Sheriff's Department Welcomes New Members
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department has officially welcomed three new officers, Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. announced. Deputies Collier and Burke and CO Martin were welcomed to the department at a Swearing-In ceremony attended by family members on Thursday, May 9. “May you all have a long, happy and fulfilling career!” said Sheriff Langley Jr. “We are so glad you are here.”

First Putnam Sheriff Town Hall Of Year Scheduled
The first Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Town Hall of 2019 has been scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at the Kent Volunteer Fire House. The “informal evening of questions and discussion” is intended to allow for the addressing of concerns throughout the community regarding the services and responses provided by the Sheriff’s Department itself. Employees Evacuated After Bomb Threat At Putnam Business
A bomb threat to a business with 20 employees busy at work brought a quick response from emergency responders in Putnam County. Putnam County sheriff’s deputies responded to T. Webber Plumbing and Heating, located at 3365 Route 9 in the Town of Philipstown, on the call of a bomb threat on Thursday, Dec. 13 at approximately 2 p.m., Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. said. Deadline Nears For Recertifying Handgun Licenses, Putnam Sheriff Says
Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. is reminding Putnam County handgun license holders that a state-imposed deadline to recertify many licenses is approaching. Holders of handgun licenses issued prior to Jan. 15, 2013 must recertify their licenses with the New York State Police by Jan.31, 2018. Covered licensees who fail to recertify by that date could be subject to having their licenses suspended or revoked without further notice.
