Thefts, Attempted Burglary Reported In Area Law enforcement officials in Dutchess County are cautioning about a recent rash of thefts and burglaries that have been reported. An alert was issued by Dutchess County Sheriff Capt. John Watterson as his office investigates several larcenies from vehicles, three thefts of actual vehicles, and an attempted burglary all reported in the areas of Amenia and Millerton. Pair Of Winning $1M Scratch-Off Tickets Purchased In Westchester, Dutchess Counties Two winning $1 million lottery tickets were purchased in the Hudson Valley.  The first lucky $1 million dollar winner was from Westchester: Cheryl Murray of Mamaroneck, lottery officials said. Murray won her jackpot prize on a Triple Stars scratch-off ticket Dec. 27, 2019. “Winning the Lottery is a little scary to be honest,” said Murray.
