Hudson Valley Porch Collapse: Person Rescued After Being Trapped
A porch collapse at a Hudson Valley home left one person injured. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 2 p.m., Monday, April 15, at 5 Boxwood Court in Hyde Park. According to Mitchell Shron, spokesman for the Roosevelt Fire District, responding firefighters and EMS found a porch from an upper story had collapsed with one person trapped in the wreckage. The victim suffered injuries to the lower leg and was bleeding, Shron said. 4 Injured In Hudson Valley 2-Vehicle Crash
Four people were injured during a serious two-vehicle crash in the region. The collision took place in Dutchess County on Route 9G at the intersection of North Cross Road in the town of Hyde Park around 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 18. According to the Roosevelt Fire District Chief Jeffrey Scala, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash with reports of ejections and people trapped in vehicles. Nearly a dozen residents were displaced and two pets were killed during a fire at a Hudson Valley home. The fire took place in Dutchess County the city of Poughkeepsie around 1:20 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 at 372 Mansion St. First arriving fire units found heavy fire in the rear of the building on the first and second floors, said City of Poughkeepsie Fire Chief Joseph Franco. Several fire departments battled a Hudson Valley house fire that destroyed the large home while having to bring in water due to the lack of fire hydrants. The fire took place in Dutchess County in Rhinebeck on Kipp Road around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, May 21. Person Found Dead In Area Cottage
Firefighters found a dead person inside a cottage apartment that burned on Monday, June 10 in the area. The call for the fire came in around 8:24 a.m., at 1185 Route 9G in a small cottage in Hyde Park that is one of three on the property that also contains a two-story apartment building, said Jeffrey Scala, assistant chief of the Roosevelt Fire District.
