Rabid Cat: Residents In Region Being Treated After Being In Contact With Infected Animal An undisclosed number of people in the region are being treated for rabies after being in contact with a rabid cat. The Sullivan County Department of Public Health has confirmed that a stray cat euthanized in the South Fallsburg area tested positive for the rabies virus.  "Exposed persons are currently receiving appropriate treatment," the department said. Owner Charged After Unvaccinated Pit Bull Bites Delivery Man In Yorktown The owner of a pit bull is facing charges after the unvaccinated dog bit a delivery man in Northern Westchester, police said. The arrest comes months after the initial incident when Yorktown Police responded to a residence on Cording Road after hearing a report of a dog bite on Sunday, Nov. 25 around 8:30 p.m. The food delivery person stated that a pit bull jumped onto him as he was leaving the residence.
