Mahopac Man Caught With Heroin After Traffic Stop, Sheriff Says A Mahopac man has been charged after he was caught with heroin during a traffic stop, according to the Putnam Sheriff. Officers with the Putnam Sheriff’s Department say they initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver commit a violation in the town of Carmel. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Michael Scauzillo, 51, of Mahopac, had a suspended driver’s license and was in possession of a quantity of heroin, the Sheriff says. Lake Peekskill Woman Caught With Counterfeit Currency During Traffic Stop, Sheriff Says A woman from Lake Peekskill is facing charges after she was caught with counterfeit currency during a traffic stop in Putnam Valley, according to the Putnam Sheriff. Members of the Putnam Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) say they initiated a traffic stop after observing a driver commit a traffic violation in the Town of Putnam Valley on Friday, July 12.
