Horses Rescued After Fire Breaks Out At Barn In Patterson Around a dozen horses had to be rescued from a barn that caught on fire in the Hudson Valley, fire officials announced. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 10 around 8:20 p.m., when the hay storage area inside a barn at the High Point Equestrian Center at 572 East Branch Rd. in Patterson caught on fire, according to the Putnam Lake Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews were able to quickly knock out a large portion of the blaze, but found completely extinguishing it difficult because of the heavily stacked hay storage inside the barn. Patterson Fire Department Rescues Trapped Horse A local fire department was able to rescue a 31-year-old horse after he became stuck between a rock and a fence in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Putnam County around 7:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 25, when the Patterson Fire Department received a call to respond to a local farm to assist the horse named "Dozer." Fire Damages Putnam Home Under Construction A fire caused heavy damage at a home under construction in the area. Putnam Lake firefighters, along with the Patterson Fire Department, responded to the fire in Putnam Lake at 4 Kingston Road around 1:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24, for a report of a structure fire, the department said. Arriving firefighters quickly confirmed a working fire at the unoccupied home that was under construction and requested a second alarm, the department said.
