Duo Nabbed In Drug Den Full Of People In Region, Sheriff Says Two people were arrested after sheriff's deputies served a warrant at an apartment in the region known as a frequent drug den. The incident took place in Sullivan County around 3 a.m., Friday, June 9 at 18 Roosevelt Place, Apartment 16 in Monticello. "The residence is well known in the neighborhood as a drug-prone location where the injection and smoking of illicit substances take place," said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty. New Barnes & Noble Opening In Danbury Fair Mall Book and magazine fans will be able to spend hours browsing the latest editions when mega-bookseller Barnes & Noble opens its new store at the Danbury Fair Mall. The grand opening is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 12 with author Amy Poeppel cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her newest book, "The Sweet Spot," company officials said. The bookseller will relocate from Danbury Square to Danbury Fair Mall, into the space formerly occupied by Arhaus. Two New Target Stores Coming To Hudson Valley Two new Target locations are preparing to open their doors to customers in Westchester. They will be in Port Chester and Yonkers. Heavy Smoke At GAP Distribution Center Causes Evacuation Numerous fire departments are on the scene of a "smoke" situation at the Gap Distribution Center in the village of Fishkill, the site of one of the region's worst fires. According to New York State Police, reports of smoke in one of the large commercial buildings was reported around noon on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the center located at 110 Merritt Blvd., said Trooper AJ Hicks. Employees have been evacuated from the building, and firefighters are searching for the source of the smoke, he said. No fire was visible at the time.
