Paramedic Becomes Second Fatal Victim Of Crash At Area Airport
A second person involved in a single-engine plane crash earlier this month has died.
Raymond Ellery, 42, of Poughkeepsie, who was critically injured during the Friday, June 5 crash, at the Wurtsboro–Sullivan County Airport in the town of Mamakating, died on Saturday, June 13.
The second person on board, Eddy R. Santana, 41, of Wurtsboro, was found dead at the scene, according to state police.

A popular bartender at the Beacon Hotel and upscale New York City restaurants, Christopher Castaldo died Thursday, Aug. 1 at his home, at age 52.
He was born July 12, 1967, in Beacon, son of John K. and the late Margaret (Peggy) Cataldo.
Castaldo graduated from Beacon High School, attended Dutchess Community College and then relocated to Manhattan to work as a bartender in upscale restaurants such as Match Uptown and L'Artisanal.

Attorney Ari J. Diaconis of Armonk died on Monday, Jan. 29. He was 33.
He was born Oct.15, 1984 and graduated from University of Vermont, where he studied economics, philosophy and Afro-Cuban percussion.
During and after college, Ari played with musical groups, such as Rubblebucket, and performed at renowned venues including Blue Note Jazz Club New York.

Jenna Marie Benz Of Blauvelt Dies At Age 20
Jenna Marie Benz of Blauvelt died on Friday, Dec. 29. She was 20 years old.
She was born in Nyack on June 25, 1997 and graduated from Tappan Zee High School in 2015.
Jenna loved her family, friends, dog (Mika), and cat (Zocoa) dearly.
She is survived by her parents. Anthony and Lara; her brother, Andrew, who was truly her best friend; her grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A funeral mass will be held, Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt with a burial to follow. Visiting hours will be Monday, Jan. 1 from 4 p.m. to 8p.m.
