Led by a strong showing downstate, New York is well-represented on U.S. News & World Report's brand-new rankings of the nation's best high schools. The rankings were released on Tuesday, Aug. 29. A pair of Hudson Valley high school students were among 40 nationally that were chosen as finalists in the prestigious 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search (STS). 19: 29 New Cases Reported At School District In Westchester
A school district in Westchester is contending with a new spike in confirmed COVID-19 cases as the region does battle with the spread of the Omicron variant of the virus. Irvington Schools Superintendent Kristopher Harrison issued an alert to the community advising that the district has reported 29 new COVID-19 cases between Thursday, Jan. 6 and Monday, Jan. 10. The confirmation of new positive COVID-19 cases at a school district in Westchester has resulted in the closure of in-person learning at one school and quarantines for some students and staffers at another. A pair of girls varsity basketball teams in Westchester came, saw and conquered the NYSPHAA tournament, easily claiming state championship crowns in routs over the weekend.
