Water Main Break Closes Major Roadway In Area A water main break has closed a major Beacon roadway for at least the next several hours, Beacon Police said. The break at 388 Fishkill Ave., has closed the road for a long stretch from Blackburn Avenue to Prospect Street, police said around 9:45 a.m. Thursday, March 28. Water department and transportation officials are on the scene working to fix the break, police said. Retail Mail Services Suspended In North Salem When Car Strikes Building Mail services at the North Salem Post Office have been temporarily suspended after a motorist drove into the building, causing extensive damage.
