A rally was held and thousands of dollars raised for the family of a man who lived in Westchester for nearly two decades before he was taken by ICE agents and deported. Dozens of Westchester residents gathered on Monday in White Plains for Cristobal Paute, who illegally emigrated to the country with his parents 18 years ago from Ecuador. He was deported over the weekend after being picked up by ICE agents at 6 a.m. on Feb. 23. Paute left behind three kids and a wife in Sleepy Hollow. Man Fleeing From ICE Agents Hit By Police Car
This story has been updated. A 24-year-old man was hit by a police car as he was running from federal immigration authorities who were attempting to arrest him. The incident unfolded Friday morning at the Danbury Superior Court where Samuel Cruz of Danbury was appearing in court on assault and disorderly conduct charges in connection with a domestic violence case, said Danbury Police Sgt.
