Hudson Valley Duo Nabbed For Stealing Checks Worth $130K From Post Office Boxes, Police Say Two men from the region have been charged with possession of stolen property and robbery for allegedly stealing more than 100 checks worth $130,000 from post office boxes. Dutchess County residents Jaiyah Shabelch, age 25, and Raheem Angus, age 25, both of Poughkeepsie, were arrested on Monday, March 11 following an investigation into the thefts. According to the Town of Poughkeepsie Police, officers were conducting surveillance of a free-standing US postal box on Raymond Avenue after several complaints of stolen checks. Man Nabbed For DWI/Drugs Following Wrong-Way Crash, Police Say A 34-year-old man has been arrested for alleged DWI/Drugs following a wrong-way driving crash in the area. Jason Miles, of Ancramdale in Columbia County, was arrested on Thursday, March 25, following a three-vehicle crash in the Town of Poughkeepsie in which one of the cars rolled over, said Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Erratic Driving Stop Leads To DWI Charge For Woman, 22, Police Say A 22-year-old woman has been charged after her erratic driving led to a traffic stop, police say. Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to the area of Haight Avenue on the report of an erratic driver on Wednesday, March 27 around 7:15 p.m. The responding officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on Manchester Road. Woman Nabbed For DWI With Child In Vehicle An area woman was busted for allegedly driving drunk with a child under the age of 16 in the vehicle. Juliet Powers, 44, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on Haight Avenue in the Town of Poughkeepsie by a member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, said Capt.
