Shots Fired Near School In Hudson Valley Police are investigating an incident in which shots were fired near a school in Westchester. It happened around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14 in Yonkers in the area of Lamartine Avenue at Warburton Avenue.  Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene with ballistic evidence, Yonkers Police said, noting that at the same time, a suspect vehicle was stopped a short distance away.  A local school was placed on precautionary lockdown for the duration of the outside police activity. Man Who Shot At Troopers In Area Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say A Hudson Valley man who fired at New York State troopers during a domestic dispute and was in return shot by troopers has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer. Orange County resident Patrick Hermanowski, age 39, of Westbrookville, was charged on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail, said Trooper Steven Nevel. According to Nevel, the incident took place around 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, when troopers and the Deerpark Police responded to a 911 call in Westbrookville. Man Who Allegedly Fired On Police During Foot Pursuit Nabbed Months Later A man who allegedly fired shots at officers during a foot pursuit earlier this year has been arrested. The incident began in Ulster County on Sunday, Feb. 2, when Saugerties Police, with assistance from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and Woodstock Police, were investigating a stabbing.
