Child Kidnapping By Non-Custodial Father Lands Hudson Valley Dad In Jail, Police Say The non-custodial father of a 4-year-old Hudson Valley boy is behind bars after allegedly kidnapping the child at knifepoint. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 16 when police responded to 881 Dutchess Turnpike in the town of Poughkeepsie on a report of an armed kidnapping, Town of Poughkeepsie Police said. Route 44 Ramp Closure Scheduled In Town of Poughkeepsie There will be temporary delays on Route 44 in Dutchess County this week as contractors close down an exit ramp for several hours to conduct construction work in Poughkeepsie. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 29, there will be an exit ramp closure eastbound on Route 44 (Haight Avenue) at Main Street / Dutchess Turnpike, weather permitted. Poughkeepsie Man Rips Off Wallet From K-Mart Shopper A Poughkeepsie man is behind bars for stealing a wallet from a shopper at K-Mart in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Arnold J. Falgiano Jr., 32, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation into the theft at the store at 635 Dutchess Turnpike, said Capt. Kevin Faber. According to Faber, Falgiano was identified through store video surveillance after taking the wallet from a store counter. Falgiano was charged with felony grand larceny and is being held at the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
