Ducklings Stuck In Storm Drain Rescued By Police Officers In Area One Hudson Valley police department spent part of a day rescuing some baby ducklings who were stuck in a storm drain. The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department was notified of the predicament on Monday, May 10. Responding officers and an Animal Control officer were dispatched to 52 Kingwood Park to see if they could assist.   Upon arrival, Officer Joe Lombardi found the ducklings, but could not get access to them because of the storm grate. Mallard, 10 Ducklings Rescued From Area Shopping Center Oh, quack. A mallard duck and her 10 little ducklings almost got squished Wednesday when they took refuge under a car in the parking lot of a local shopping center.  But no worries, the Ramapo Police Department, along with the city's animal control officer, and a couple Good Samaritans quickly came to the rescue and were able, with quite a bit of effort, to rescue all the ducks. Once captured and put in a box, the family was relocated to a nearby stream out of harm's way.
