Lawsuit: Debate Team Coach Wrongly Attacked Student After Lakeland Contest
A 14-year-old left his prestigious private school after coaches on the debate team accused him of selling out a recent contest, according to a lawsuit filed in Superior Court. The former student at Kugnus ACTS Academy in Closter, New Jersey, faced "false, malicious and defamatory" from a debate coach after losing in the second round of a contest last month in the Lakeland Westchester Classic at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak, NorthJersey.com reports.
