Robert Durst Indicted For Murder Of First Wife, DA Announces The Westchester County District Attorney announced that Robert Durst has been indicted for the 1982 murder of his first wife, Kathleen Durst. Durst, age 78, was charged in an indictment on Monday, Nov. 1, with second-degree murder, District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced. Authorities Ask For Help Identifying Man Found Dead In Hudson Valley Authorities in Westchester County are asking the public for help identifying a man whose body was found in a wooden chest on the side of the Saw Mill River Parkway more than four decades ago. The man's body was discovered in Hastings-on-Hudson at 10:15 a.m. on April 23, 1978, by a driver traveling north on the parkway, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. The driver pulled over after seeing a cedar chest on the side of the road and found that the chest was nailed shut. He opened the chest with a tire iron and found the man's body inside. Victim ID'd In Cold-Case Hudson Valley Homicide A woman who was found dead and nude on a Westchester County street more than 30 years ago has been identified by the District's Attorney's Office's newly created Cold-Case Bureau. Through the use of DNA testing and investigative genealogy, the victim, formerly known as “Jane Doe Mount Vernon” has officially been identified as Veronica Wiederhold, the DA's Office said.
