Authorities are searching for whoever was responsible for abandoning two ferrets found inside a crate at a Hudson Valley Park and Ride parking lot, police said. The two ferrets were discovered inside a plastic crate in Putnam County on Wednesday morning, March 13 at the Park and Ride parking lot on Route 311 in Patterson, according to the Putnam County SPCA. A Hudson Valley woman convicted of abandoning dogs faces more charges for failing to update her information on an animal cruelty registry after moving, police announced. Putnam County resident Tammy Williams of Kent, age 46, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 8, and charged with failing to register with the county's Animal Cruelty Registry, the Putnam County SPCA announced. Law enforcement officials in Putnam County had to intervene after a Northern Westchester woman abandoned her cat at an area veterinarian, the SPCA announced. It is alleged that Peekskill resident Alaina Sessions, age 38, abandoned Cheesecake, her pet cat, at the Guardian Veterinary Specialists 24 Hour Emergency Hospital in the Town of Southeast in Putnam County without ever returning to pick it up. A serial animal abandoner from Dutchess County is facing charges after being busted by the Putnam County SPCA for allegedly trapping and leaving a neighbor’s cat in the woods, authorities announced. Know Her? Abandoned Beagle Seen Being Pushed Out Of Jeep In Carmel
The Putnam County SPCA is seeking information regarding the abandonment of an adult female beagle. On Tuesday, Dec. 1, around 1 p.m., a delivery driver observed an individual push the dog out of an older model, Black Jeep Wrangler onto the side of Route 301, in the Town of Carmel, said the SPCA. Authorities are seeking information after 10 abandoned guinea pigs were found in the area. A reward is now being offered for information after a young dog was found tied to a tree off of a busy stretch of I-84. At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, a New York State Department of Transportation crew getting ready to mow near mile marker 50 in Dutchess County on the highway in East Fishkill heard what sounded like a dog barking in the nearby woods, state police said.
