Speeding Driver Busted For DWI After Nearly Striking Officer In Area
The tire of an allegedly drunk driver in Westchester deflated in front of an officer as he was attempting to deny speeding and striking a curb after he nearly drove into him, police said. An officer from the Scarsdale Police Department conducting a traffic stop of a different driver at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 on Post Road in Scarsdale spotted another vehicle speeding in the area, narrowly missing the officer’s vehicle near the intersection of Oxford Road as its emergency lights were active. Police: Five Found Unconscious On Somers Lawn From Drinking Too Much
Five people in their early 20s were hospitalized and treated by EMS after being found unconscious on the lawn of a residence in Northern Westchester. The incident took place around 8:18 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, when New York State Police responded to a residence in Lincolndale, a hamlet of Somers, said Trooper AJ Hicks. When state police arrived, all five were passed out on the lawn of the residence, according to Hicks. The group had apparently consumed too much alcohol, Hicks said. All are expected to survive, he said.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly using a firearm and alcohol to forcibly have sex with a 14-year-old victim. Matthew R. McClay, of Pleasant Valley, was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 17, following an investigation by the New York State Police and the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center, said Trooper AJ Hicks. A warrant was issued following the investigation for the search of a residence on Route 44 in the town of Pleasant Valley. A Hudson Valley mom was arrested after attempting to pick up her child from a Fairfield County school while drunk. The Centers for Disease Control has released a guide to assist parents in helping teenagers avoid using or abusing substances such as alcohol of marijuana. According to the CDC, “substance use by teens can have a big impact on their health and well-being. Vera Ribeiro-Menezes, 63, was arrested Friday for a variety of criminal offenses associated with illegal alcohol and cigarette sales at her Danbury home, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
