A 22-year-old official who was allegedly impaired when he was involved in a Westchester crash that left two hospitalized, was back in court this week. Yonkers Deputy Communication Director Akeem Jamal, 22, pleaded not guilty to multiple charges that include driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, for his role in the Sunday, Sept. 15 crash on Central Park Avenue. Jamal has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces. He is due back in court on Jan. 14 next year. Wrong-Way Driver Charged With DWI For Crash That Injured Two In Area
A 22-year-old wrong-way driver was allegedly impaired when he struck a driver during an early morning crash in Westchester, leaving both hospitalized, police said. Members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to Central Park Avenue near Palmer Road at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, where there was a report of a head-on collision involving two drivers in the southbound lane on Central Park Avenue.
