A Hudson Valley man was charged with the sale of a controlled substance during an ongoing investigation into fentanyl and drug sales in the region. Orange County resident Takai Jackson, age 27, of Newburgh, was busted by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force on Tuesday, Jan. 9 in Poughkeepsie. According to Sgt. Adam Harris of the Dutchess County task force, during the investigation Jackson was identified as moving drugs in the region. To "clean up the streets" from drug dealers before the holidays, a Hudson Valley drug task force initiated a special operation, arresting six alleged dealers. The Dutchess County Drug Task Force initiated "Operation Silent Night" in early October in an attempt to aggressively investigate and arrest drug dealers before the holidays. According to Det. Sgt. Two Dutchess County alleged drug dealers have been charged with the criminal sale of controlled substances after an investigation by a drug task force. Dutchess County residents Tyrese Elting, age 24, of the town of Poughkeepsie, and Brandon Mima, age 20, from the city of Poughkeepsie were arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 14 during separate raids by the Dutchess County Task Force. A Hudson Valley man who was in a diversion program to avoid jail for selling narcotics in the region has been busted again for allegedly peddling drugs. Dutchess County resident Stefon Graham, age 33, of Beacon, was charged on a six-count indictment on Monday, Oct. 30 by a grand jury following an investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force. Warning Issued In Area For Counterfeit Oxycodone Pills Containing Fentanyl
Authorities in the Hudson Valley are warning residents of the increased presence of fentanyl in the area, in particular counterfeit 30mg oxycodone pills containing the dangerous drug. Since January 2022, the Dutchess County Drug Task Force has seized several thousand counterfeit prescription pills containing fentanyl through investigations conducted in the Dutchess County area, Det.
