MAHOPAC, N.Y. -- Mahopac resident Neal L. Sullivan, a local business owner and community volunteer, has received the endorsement of the Carmel Republican Committee in his bid for the Putnam County Legislature District 9 seat.

The seat is currently held by Kevin Wright, who is not seeking re-election. Sullivan is the secretary for the Carmel Republican Committee and owner of Sullivan Insurance in Mahopac. He serves on the Putnam County Commission for Fiscal Vision and Accountability and the town of Carmel Parks and Recreation Committee.

Sullivan is a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus and has served as a board member on the Putnam County Industrial Development Agency, the Mahopac Carmel Chamber of Commerce as treasurer, the Carmel Planning Board, the Putnam County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and the St. James Finance Committee.

He is a past President of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the Lake Mahopac Rotary Club and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of New York. Sullivan presently serves on the board of directors of Adirondack Insurance Exchange. He grew up in Carmel and now lives in Mahopac with his wife Patrice and their two children, Jackie.

“I am so incredibly honored and humbled to receive such a great endorsement from the Carmel Republican Committee and Chairman Scannapieco,” Sullivan said. “I look forward to running with other Republican’s including Senator Terrence Murphy, Kevin Byrne, Judge Jim Reitz and Legislator Carl Albano on a powerful republican ticket promoting limited government."
