Officers from the North Castle Police Department received a report from a Hemlock Hollow Road resident on Tuesday, Feb. 19 of the criminal mischief involving a filler plate that had been removed from the left side of her vehicle.
Police said that the woman parked the car in the driveway at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, at which point the vehicle was intact.
When she returned to the car two days later, she saw that the plate that had been secured to the left side of the bumper was missing.
The woman told investigators that the vehicle was not involved in any collision, and that she suspects that it may have been deliberately removed by an unknown suspect while it was parked in the driveway.
