North Salem Woman, 22, Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

A 22-year-old North Salem woman who failed to maintain her lane while driving in Poughkeepsie is facing drug charges, state police from the Wappinger barracks said.

Kayla R. Borelli Decola has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, both misdemeanors.

Troopers stopped Decola on Hooker Avenue for failing to maintain her designated lane of travel, police said. Subsequent investigation revealed that Decola possessed heroin and was operating the vehicle impaired by drugs, according to police.

Decola was evaluated by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert. The defendant was issued appearance tickets directing her to appear before the City of Poughkeepsie Justice Court on May 18.
