Hyde Park Native Follows In Her State Trooper Father's Footsteps

HYDE PARK, N.Y. – The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and in the case of the Stelmach family, Hyde Park native Courtney Stelmach followed in her law enforcement father’s footsteps.

She graduated from the basic school of the New York State Police Academy.

This was the second police academy graduation Stelmach and her father, Sgt. Vincent Stelmach of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, attended together – they were both present at Sgt. Stelmach’s graduation from the New York State Municipal Police Training Council basic course in 1989, when his daughter was just 10 months old.
